Basketball Recap: Aberdeen Eagles vs. Elkton Golden Elks

The Aberdeen Eagles lost against the Elkton Golden Elks back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Aberdeen ended up on the wrong side of a tough 75-49 walloping at the hands of the Golden Elks. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Aberdeen has scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Aberdeen lost, one person who can't be blamed is JUSTIN FRANKLIN. Despite the final result, he scored eight points along with three steals. FRANKLIN is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of KELSYN HARRIS, who scored eight points.

Even though they lost, Aberdeen smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Aberdeen has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Elkton, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-4.

Aberdeen will take on the Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Parkville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 852 points over their last 13 matches. As for Elkton, they will head out on the road to face off against the Rams at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
