Hillside has gone a perfect 10-0 against Northern Durham recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Hillside Hornets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Northern Durham Knights at 5:30 p.m.

Hillside is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Jordan on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Hillside was dealt a 52-23 defeat at the hands of Jordan. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 369th, while the Falcons are ranked 151st).

Despite their loss, Hillside saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kynnedy Roberts, who posted eight points and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Trotman, who scored four points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks.

Even though they lost, Hillside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Northern Durham hadn't done well against Riverside-Durham recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Northern Durham walked away with a 31-23 victory over Riverside-Durham.

Hillside's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Northern Durham, their win ended an eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-15.

Everything came up roses for Hillside against Northern Durham in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as the team secured a 53-21 victory. Will Hillside repeat their success, or does Northern Durham have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
