Baseball Recap: Poteet Aggies vs. Jourdanton Indians
Poteet extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 7-15. They lost 18-2 to the Jourdanton Indians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-0 on Tuesday.
As for Jourdanton, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9-1 record this season. The result was nothing new for Jourdanton, who have now won 14 games by six runs or more so far this season.
For Jourdanton's part, Ryder Aguilar made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. What's more, Aguilar posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jourdanton got a massive performance out of Brandon Stahl, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Stahl a new career-high. Ryan Aguilar also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Jourdanton beat Poteet by a score of 18-2 later that day.
