Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Travis Chin and Lathan Coleman Lead South Plantation to Victory

South Plantation won the last time they faced Taravella and things went their way on Monday too. The South Plantation Paladins walked away with a 65-56 victory over the Taravella Trojans. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Paladins.

Leading South Plantation to victory were Lathan Coleman and Travis Chin. Coleman dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards, while Chin went 6 of 13 en route to 17 points along with six assists and three steals. Chin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Marc Vincent was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

South Plantation smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Taravella only pulled down five offensive rebounds.

Despite the loss, Taravella still got an impressive performance from Nick Florea, who went 10 for 16 on his way to 26 points. With that strong performance, Florea is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Santana Henderson III, who posted ten points and five assists.

South Plantation is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Taravella, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Plantation will head out to challenge Piper at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Taravella, they will venture away from home to take on Stoneman Douglas at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
