Softball Recap: Palmyra-Eagle Comes Up Short

Palmyra-Eagle fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Waterloo on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 4-3. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Palmyra-Eagle saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Teagan Koutsky, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Palmyra-Eagle now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Waterloo, they moved to 7-8 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Palmyra-Eagle and Waterloo could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Panthers (ranked 216th) will meet Deerfield (ranked 82nd) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Waterloo will face off against Jefferson at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (188 vs. 19).
