Wellington made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Mapleton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Dukes didn't even let the Mounties on the board on Saturday, marking the Dukes' second-straight 7-0 shutout. Give the Dukes' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Not much got past Mallory Pickering, who gave up just a hit and racked up 19 Ks to keep Mapleton off the board. Pickering has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brynn White was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Avery Senghas was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Wellington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .514 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Wellington now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Mapleton, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Wellington has already played their next game, a 20-4 victory against Clearview on the 7th. Mapleton has also already played their next contest (against Monroeville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
