Preview: Midland Legacy Rebels vs. Trinity Trojans
The Midland Legacy Rebels will face off against the Trinity Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Midland Legacy had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They claimed a resounding 64-19 victory over Montwood at home. The victory was nothing new for Midland Legacy as they're now sitting on four straight.
Damien Johnson got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 163 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Jaden Rogers was another key contributor, rushing for 66 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, even though Timber Creek scored an imposing 35 points on Friday, Trinity still came out on top. Trinity blew past Timber Creek 63-35 on the road.
Midland Legacy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Trinity, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Midland Legacy came up short against Trinity when the teams last played back in December of 2020, falling 56-49. Can Midland Legacy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
