Valley faced Waukee in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Tigers came up short against the Warriors, falling 7-1. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Valley's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-12. As for Waukee, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Valley beat Waukee by a score of 7-2 later that day.
