Basketball Recap: Estancia Comes Up Short

Estancia played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 64-43 to the Valencia Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1212th, while the Tigers are ranked 382nd).

Estancia has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Valencia, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Estancia and Elsinore will round out the year against one another at on Monday. As for Valencia, they will be playing at home against Santa Ana at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Valencia's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Santa Ana has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
