Soccer Game Preview: Battle Creek vs. Central Magnet

The Battle Creek Grizzlies will head out on the road to face off against Central Magnet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Thursday, Battle Creek made easy work of Lawrence County and carried off an 8-1 win. It was an even better day for Ashlan Alexander as she scored three goals for her team.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Central Magnet made sure to put some goals up on the board against Marshall County on Thursday. They never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. Given Central Magnet's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Marshall County is ranked 278th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Battle Creek and bumps their season record up to 9-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those two matches. As for Central Magnet, their win bumped their record up to 14-2-1.

Battle Creek suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Central Magnet in their previous meeting back in September. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Grizzlies were down 3-0.
