Basketball Game Preview: Tuckerman Bulldogs vs. Trumann Wildcats

The Tuckerman Bulldogs will head out to face off against the Trumann Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Trumann took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Tuckerman, who comes in off a win.

Tuckerman got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They walked away with a 63-52 victory over Marshall on Friday. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Bobcats are ranked 114th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Trumann was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. The game between them and Brookland didn't end well, with Trumann falling 50-34. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Trumann's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Tuckerman, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Tuckerman won a contest that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in December of 2023, slipping by Trumann 65-64. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tuckerman since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
