Basketball Recap: Coral Gables Cavaliers vs. Sunset Knights
The Coral Gables Cavaliers had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They put the hurt on Sunset with a sharp 45-22 win.
Coral Gables' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aniyah Coffie, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Veronica Trueba, who scored eight points.
Coral Gables' win bumped their record up to 4-14. As for Sunset, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.
Coral Gables will head out on the road to square off against the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Ferguson presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Cavaliers in Florida (the Falcons are ranked 181st, while the Cavaliers are ranked 484th). As for Sunset, they will take on the Royal Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
