            The Dayton Dust Devils will face off against the Hug Hawks at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Dayton has four straight  victories, Hug has 22 straight  defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Dayton saw some tournament action  on Saturday. They walked away with  a   5-2  win over White Pine.

 LaSade Conti made a splash no matter where she played. She  struck out 11 batters over  six innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   six  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-2. Conti is  crushing it when it comes to  stolen bases: she's   snagged at least one every time she's  taken the field this season.
 In other batting news,  Macie Hannum was  excellent,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with one  triple and one  RBI. That  triple marked the first that  she  hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Madison Cleland, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Dayton was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .409. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .409 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
 Meanwhile, Hug came up short against  Portola on Saturday, falling  18-1.
 Hug's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Dayton, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
 Everything went Dayton's way against Hug in their previous meeting  back in March of 2024, as Dayton made off with  a  21-1 win. Will Dayton repeat their success,  or does  Hug have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
