Rabun County has gone 8-2 against Oglethorpe County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Rabun County Wildcats will be playing at home against the Oglethorpe County Patriots at 7:30 p.m. Rabun County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 18 matchups -- so hopefully Oglethorpe County likes a good challenge.

Last Thursday, Rabun County was able to grind out a solid win over Providence Christian Academy, taking the game 56-49. The 56-point effort marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rabun County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hayes Free, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 18 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Huey Blalock, who posted 14 points and eight assists.

Meanwhile, Oglethorpe County came up short against Commerce on Thursday and fell 44-33. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 448th, while the Tigers are ranked 192nd).

Rabun County is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.7 points per game. As for Oglethorpe County, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-11.

Everything came up roses for Rabun County against Oglethorpe County in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 71-39 victory. Does Rabun County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Oglethorpe County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
