Baseball Recap: University Find Success

University was not the first on the board on Wednesday, but they got there more often. They had just enough and edged out the Atlantic Sharks 4-2. This was a revenge game for the Titans: when they faced off against the Sharks last Monday, they had to take a 4-3 loss.

Jaiden Palmer was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had over his last three games. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Carlos Martinez was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He has become a key player for University: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 9-11-2 otherwise.

University hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Atlantic struck out nine times.

University is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-11-2 record this season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Atlantic, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 12-7.

University and Atlantic are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Titans will face off against DeLand at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Atlantic, they are taking a road trip to take on Mount Dora at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
