Basketball Recap: Denver City Comes Up Short

Denver City suffered their biggest defeat since February 9th on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 86-47 loss at the hands of the Brownfield Cubs. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Cubs recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Denver City's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Brownfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Denver City and Brownfield should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Denver City (ranked 655th) will meet Lockney (ranked 1415th) at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Brownfield will challenge Compass Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday up 564 places (391 vs. 955).
