Basketball Recap: Pataula Charter Academy Comes Up Short

Pataula Charter Academy lost against Randolph-Clay back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pataula Charter Academy Panthers were outmatched by the Randolph-Clay Red Devils and fell 63-18. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 471st, while the Red Devils are ranked 225th).

Pataula Charter Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kelsie Tillman, who posted seven points.

Randolph-Clay was led to victory by Zyiah Johnson and Ta'Kyrah Jones. Johnson dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Jones earned 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Johnson is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Justice Mock, who had eight points and three steals.

Pataula Charter Academy is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6. As for Randolph-Clay, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Pataula Charter Academy is taking a road trip to take on Stewart County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pataula Charter Academy is facing Stewart County at the right time seeing as Stewart County is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Randolph-Clay, they will welcome Schley County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Randolph-Clay is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
