Baseball Recap: Campolindo Cougars vs. Vintage Crushers
After flying high against Pinole Valley last Tuesday, Campolindo came back down to earth. The Campolindo Cougars fell just short of the Vintage Crushers by a score of 8-7 on Saturday. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 6-4 to the Crushers when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Colin Rutzen was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits.
On the hitting side, Blake Robison and Cole Fischer did some serious damage despite the final result: Robison went 1-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double, while Fischer went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. Miles Clayton was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
