Baseball Recap: Exeter Takes a Loss

Exeter was the 4-3 winner over Billings when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 6-5 on Friday. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cameron Brattin was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Brattin was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ed Lokot and Jax Brock did some serious damage despite the final result: Lokot went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double, while Brock got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.

Exeter's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-14. As for Billings, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Exeter will challenge Southwest at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Billings, they will take on Verona at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
