It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Avalon had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 79-46 victory over Calverton. The win was familiar territory for the Black Knights, who have now won seven matchups in a row.

Avalon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nubek Hailu led the charge by going 11-for-17 en route to 24 points and five boards. Thanks to that strong game, Hailu now owns an excellent 45.3% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Messiah Manning, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 14 points in addition to seven assists and four steals.

Avalon's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-10. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.3 points over those games. As for Calverton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.

Looking ahead, Avalon will welcome Takoma Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Avalon's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 16 games. Calverton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
