Columbiana came out on top against United on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Clippers took their game against the Golden Eagles 11-6. The victory continues a trend for the Clippers in their matchups with the Golden Eagles: they've now won five in a row.

Reese Roush was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Roush was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Liam McElwain was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Ethan Lehnerd was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Columbiana's record now sits at 11-12. As for United, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 17-6.

Columbiana will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Golden Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
