Basketball Recap: West Central Valley Takes a Loss

West Central Valley lost against Madrid back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The West Central Valley Wildcats were beaten by the Madrid Tigers 81-34. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while the Tigers are ranked 23rd).

West Central Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Madrid, they pushed their record up to 16-0 with the victory, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Central Valley has already played their next contest (against Van Meter), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Madrid Tigers take on the Panorama Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Madrid's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 15 matches.
