Softball Recap: Cameron Drops Season-High Score on Ladysmith

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cameron). They blew past the Ladysmith Lumberjacks 20-10 on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Comets in their matchups with the Lumberjacks: they've now won three in a row.

Brylee Viltz was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Mallory Duerkop, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Cameron always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .641. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Cameron's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Ladysmith, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cameron will venture away from home to face off against Ashland at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ladysmith, they will head out to take on Cumberland at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
