Baseball Game Preview: Vernon Yellowjackets vs. Sneads Pirates

The Vernon Yellowjackets will venture away from home to challenge the Sneads Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Vernon has given up an average of 11 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Vernon fell victim to Franklin County and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Seahawks, falling 11-0. The loss continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their meetings with the Seahawks: they've now lost nine in a row.

Sneads not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 11th. They blew past Malone 13-5. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Sneads' victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Vernon, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.

Vernon suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Sneads when the teams last played back in February. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
