Baseball Game Preview: Owosso Trojans vs. Brandon Blackhawks

For the first time this season, Owosso will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing at home against the Brandon Blackhawks at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Owosso is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

While Owosso didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-18-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Marshall on Saturday, sneaking past 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since April 18, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Eden Ackley, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Ryan Maier was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Meanwhile, Brandon came up short against Kearsley on Friday and fell 4-1.

Brandon's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Owosso, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Owosso came out on top in a nail-biter against Brandon in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 10-9. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Blackhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
