Basketball Recap: Lexi Tamayo's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lynnwood over Shorecrest

Lynnwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 64-47 to the Shorecrest Scots. While losing is never fun, the Royals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the Scots are ranked 126th).

Several Royals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lexi Tamayo, who posted 19 points. That's the most points Tamayo has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nina Wilson, who had 14 points.

Lynnwood's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Shorecrest, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Lynnwood will welcome Archbishop Murphy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Archbishop Murphy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Lynnwood likes a good challenge. As for Shorecrest, they will take on Shorewood at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
