Basketball Recap: Middleton Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Middleton can now relate to. They came up short against the Chamberlain Storm on Monday, falling 71-47. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 752nd, while the Storm are ranked 319th).

When it comes to explaining why Middleton lost, don't look at Sherrick Oliver. Despite the final result, he posted 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Darrion Marchman, who scored ten points.

Chamberlain was led to victory by DeVonte Spears and Dario Borden. Spears earned 23 points, while Borden put up 17 points. Dijion Vaughn-Dixon was another key player, putting up eight points.

Middleton is on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-22. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.4 points over those games. As for Chamberlain, their record is now 18-7.

Middleton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chamberlain, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-52 victory against Robinson on the 5th.
