Recap: Trinity Christian Academy Eagles vs. Foundation Academy Lions
The Trinity Christian Academy Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 45-13 defeat at the hands of Foundation Academy. Trinity Christian Academy lost against Foundation Academy in their previous head to head back in February of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 55-38 score last time.
Foundation Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avery Michels, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Michels has scored at least 25% of Foundation Academy's points. Lily Holloman was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
Trinity Christian Academy's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-3. As for Foundation Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity Christian Academy will face off against St. Joseph Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Joseph Academy's defense has only allowed 29 points per game this season, so Trinity Christian Academy's offense will have their work cut out for Trinity Christian Academy. Foundation Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Altamonte Christian at 5:30 p.m. on December 5th. Altamonte Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
