Pearsall has gone a perfect 10-0 against Pleasanton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Mavericks will host the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Pearsall is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Pearsall turned things around against Carrizo Springs on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 20-0 shutout.

Zailey Hurst made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jalyssa Vasquez, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Hernandez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Pearsall kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Somerset hit Pleasanton with a four-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles lost 10-1 to the Bulldogs. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost seven in a row.
Pearsall's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-9. As for Pleasanton, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 14-9.
Everything went Pearsall's way against Pleasanton when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Pearsall made off with a 15-4 victory. Will the Mavericks repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
