Football Game Preview: East Butler Tigers vs. Mead Raiders

Two dominant signal callers in Grant Kozisek and Mason Reed are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The East Butler Tigers will be playing at home against the Mead Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Butler has given up an average of 31.2 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

East Butler's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Shelby-Rising City on Friday. They were outmatched by the Huskies and fell 66-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Huskies: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Mead lost to McCool Junction at home by a 52-36 margin on Friday.

The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Reed and Carson McDonald. McDonald had a great game and rushed for 268 yards and four scores while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Reed was balling out in the loss, throwing for 207 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 62 yards.

Mead's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for East Butler, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-2.

East Butler didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Mead in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 52-46 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Reed, who threw for 169 yards and three TDs on only 13 passes, and also rushed for 91 yards and one score on only eight carries.
