The West Haven Blue Devils will take on the North Haven Nighthawks at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
West Haven's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Hamden 13-0. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Green Dragons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Haven). Everything went their way against Branford on Thursday as they made off with a 14-2 victory. The Nighthawks not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 20, 2024 (when they won 12-0).
Brianna Palmese was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Palmese was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. That hit was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Alyssa Ferriouolo was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kaydence Ford, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
North Haven always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
The win got West Haven back to even at 2-2. As for North Haven, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
