Soccer Recap: Madison Comes Up Short

Madison lost against Polk County back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Patriots lost 8-0 to the Wolverines. While losing is never fun, Madison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 504th, while Polk County are ranked 71st).

This is the second loss in a row for Madison and nudges their season record down to 3-14-1. As for Polk County, they pushed their record up to 12-0-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Madison has already played their next match, a 4-0 loss against Owen on the 22nd. As for Polk County, they will look to defend their home pitch on Monday against Avery County at 6:00 p.m. Polk County will be up against Avery County's rather soft defense (which has allowed 5.53 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
