Soccer Recap: Key West Comes Up Short

After soaring to five goals the game before, Key West was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They came up short against the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders, falling 6-1. The matchup was a close 2-1 at the break, but unfortunately for the Conchs it sure didn't stay that way.

Their goal came courtesy of Finn O'Hearn, who's now up to two this season.

The defeat snapped Key West's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-3-1 record. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, they pushed their record up to 10-4-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Key West will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. Key West is facing Somerset Academy - Canyons at the right time seeing as Somerset Academy - Canyons is stuck on a three-game losing streak. St. Thomas Aquinas also won't see the pitch for a while: their next game is against Cardinal Gibbons at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
