Recap: Loretto Angels vs. Jefferson Silver Foxes
The Loretto Angels's six-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They managed a 39-35 victory over Jefferson. This was payback for Loretto, who suffered a 52-26 loss the last time these two teams met.
Jefferson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sarahi Guevara, who scored 11 points. Guevara scored a full 31.4% of Jefferson's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Katherine Salcido, who scored 9 points.
The last time Loretto lost on the road was back last Thursday. Having now won three straight away matches, they've pushed their record up to 1-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.0 points per game. As for Jefferson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Loretto will take on Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jefferson, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Parkland at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th.
