Baseball Recap: Groveton's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Groveton won against Slocum on Tuesday with 18 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Groveton Indians beat the Slocum Mustangs by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 18-5. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

DAX PARKER and TY TORREGROSA were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, PARKER tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, TORREGROSA pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits PARKER has allowed since back in February. At bat, PARKER went a perfect 4-for-4 with seven RBI, three doubles, and two runs, while TORREGROSA scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those seven RBI gave PARKER a new career-high.

In other batting news, CADE WHITE was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI and two runs. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of CASH MOORE, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Groveton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The victory (which was Groveton's sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Slocum, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Groveton will host Hemphill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Slocum, they will face off against Brazos Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Slocum has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
