Football Recap: Bishop's Skates Past Don Lugo with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bishop). They blew past the Don Lugo Conquistadores 53-0 on Thursday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Knights' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 309th, while the Conquistadores are ranked 672nd).

Cash Herrera produced another solid performance throwing for 174 yards and three touchdowns. Bruce Esajian got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Bishop's didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Khai Agbayani led the group effort, picking up three of those interceptions all by himself. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Bishop's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.8 points over those games. As for Don Lugo, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop's will host Escondido Charter at 7:00 p.m. on the 18th. As for Don Lugo, they will face off against Montclair at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. The game will give the Conquistadores their first taste of in-conference action this season.
