Basketball Recap: Little Elm Victorious

Little Elm saw some tournament action on Thursday. They came out on top against the Red Oak Hawks by a score of 61-53.

Kensington Candler was his usual excellent self, going 11-for-17 to rack up 29 points and eight boards. His big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 20 points. Another player making a difference was Ian Berry, who shot 45% from the field en route to 16 points.

Red Oak's loss came despite strong showings from Jaxon Thomas and Anthony Burdine. Thomas went 5-for-12 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds, while Burdine shot 50% from the field to rack up 15 points and six boards. Thomas also posted a block, marking his first of the season. Boris Tolbert was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Little Elm's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Red Oak, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Little Elm has already played their next game, a 97-57 win against Reedy on the 21st. As for Red Oak, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-28 victory against Anna on the 21st.
