Volleyball Recap: Muncie Burris Takes a Loss

Muncie Burris suffered their biggest defeat since October 12, 2024 on Saturday. They came up short against the Elkhart Lions, falling 3-0. The Owls have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Muncie Burris took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-21, 27-25.

JaMaria Jackson paced Muncie Burris' offense, picking up eight kills. Jackson got some help from Addison Pierce and her 22 assists. Colleen Chlystun controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Elkhart's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ava Polack, who had 11 kills and four digs. That's the most kills Polack has posted over her last ten contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Walker, who had 11 digs and two aces.

Muncie Burris suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 17-6. As for Elkhart, their record is now 20-9.

Coming up, Muncie Burris will welcome Muncie Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elkhart, they will head out on the road to face off against Northridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
