2020 NBA Draft: Mapping out where previous No. 1 overall picks played high school basketball

Looking back at the last 20 top picks, beginning with Kenyon Martin in 2000.

In his latest mock draft, Colin Ward-Henninger of CBS Sports projects Georgia guard Anthony Edwards to be picked No. 1 overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves. Far from a certainty, however, other names in play to come off the board first include LaMelo Ball and James Wiseman.

Should Minnesota make Edwards – who attended Holy Spirit Prep (Atlanta) before spending a year at the University of Georgia – the top pick, he would be the first Peach State product to go No. 1 overall since Dwight Howard in 2004.

"Edwards is a good fit and has as much potential as anyone in the class with his scoring ability and athleticism, so it makes sense for Minnesota to take him," writes Ward-Henninger.

Another fascinating angle heading into Wednesday night's draft is the history between Ball and Onyeka Okongwu – projected to go No. 3 to the Charlotte Hornets. In 2015-16, Ball and Okongwu were named MaxPreps National Co-Freshman of the Year after helping Chino Hills (Calif.) win state and national titles.

Ball would go on to famously author a 92-point game as a sophomore before moving on to the Big Baller Brand-sponsored Junior Basketball Association, SPIRE Institute (Geneva, Ohio) and the Hawks of Australia's National Basketball League.
