Football Recap: Jacksonville's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four + How To Watch

Jacksonville strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 35-24 victory over the East Duplin Panthers. The Cardinals pushed the score to 28-3 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers cut but never quite recovered from.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Amari Pearson and Amaree Betton. Pearson rushed for 133 yards and a pair of TDs while Betton gained 106 total yards. Pearson's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 100 rushing yards.

Jacksonville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 220 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 186 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Jacksonville's defense made their presence known, laying out Branson Norris three times. Blake Moses was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself. Another thorn in East Duplin's side was Jackson Henry, who made ten total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Jacksonville's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for East Duplin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Jacksonville and East Duplin will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Cardinals see the field they'll take on New Bern at 7:00 p.m. on the 3rd. As for East Duplin, their break will end when they face Southwest Onslow at 7:00 p.m. on the 3rd.
