Soccer Recap: Compton Early College Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Compton Early College's offense. They lost 8-0 to the Animo Leadership Aztec Eagles on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Rising Phoenix can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1100th, while the Aztec Eagles are ranked 378th).

Compton Early College's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9-1. As for Animo Leadership, they pushed their record up to 12-7-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Compton Early College will take on Animo City of Champions at 1:45 p.m. on Monday. Compton Early College's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Animo Leadership, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Artesia on the 25th.
