Basketball Recap: Pleasant Hope Comes Up Short

If Pleasant Hope was riding high fresh off their 87-60 takedown of Hurley back in December of 2024, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pleasant Hope Pirates were dealt a 76-47 loss at the hands of the Halfway Cardinals on Thursday. The Pirates have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Pleasant Hope's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Halfway, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Pleasant Hope will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Aurora Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Halfway has already played their next contest, a 59-55 defeat against Kingsville on the 11th.
