Lafayette and Hopewell squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Lafayette had to settle for second. They took a 55-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hopewell Blue Devils. The Rams' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Lafayette lost, don't look at Dynasti Pierce. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 25 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Skylar Montaque, who posted nine points.

Leading Hopewell to victory were Erin Edmonds HV17 and April Winfield. Edmonds HV17 shot 45% from the field on her way to 26 points and five rebounds, while Winfield went 6-for-12 to rack up 16 points and five boards. The matchup was Edmonds HV17's 11th in a row with at least 23 points. Kierra Prince was another key player, putting up six points.

Lafayette's loss dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Hopewell, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 15-4.

Lafayette does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hopewell, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-44 defeat against Grafton on the 28th.
