Preview: Lighthouse Christian Academy Lions vs. White River Valley Wolverines
The Lighthouse Christian Academy Lions will be home for the holidays to greet the White River Valley Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Lighthouse Christian Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 60-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Crothersville. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lighthouse Christian Academy in their matchups with Crothersville: they've now lost three in a row.
Brock Banks put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. He scored a full 46.8% of Lighthouse Christian Academy's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jared Mcadams, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for White River Valley, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-35 loss to Wood Memorial on Saturday. While losing is never fun, White River Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 390th, while Wood Memorial is ranked 182nd).
Lighthouse Christian Academy bumped their record down to 2-3 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for White River Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
Lighthouse Christian Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against White River Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 60-55 win. Will Lighthouse Christian Academy repeat their success, or does White River Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
