Basketball Recap: Wright Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Anaeli Salas and Jocelyn Umiker

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wright can now relate to. The contest between the Wright Panthers and the Big Horn Rams didn't end well, with the Wright Panthers falling 51-35. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Rams this season, with their most recent defeat being a 70-51 loss last Friday.

Wright's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jocelyn Umiker, who posted nine points and five rebounds, and Anaeli Salas, who scored eight points and three steals. Salas is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Wright has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season. The win (which was Big Horn's fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-10.

Wright didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-55 victory against Sundance on the 28th. As for Big Horn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 50-10 loss against Tongue River on the 28th.
