Softball Recap: Metcalfe County Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Metcalfe County's offense. They lost 15-0 to the Cumberland County Panthers on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Hornets in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Metcalfe County now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Cumberland County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-6-1 record this season.

Metcalfe County is taking a road trip to square off against Russell County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lakers have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Cumberland County, they will welcome Clinton County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
