Volleyball Recap: Corning's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

It was a proper cat-fight when Corning duked it out with McKinleyville on Saturday. The Cardinals walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Panthers. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Cardinals as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Brystal McClelland paced Corning's offense, picking up seven kills. McClelland got some help from Alexis Jimenez and her five assists. Sienna Munoz controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Corning's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for McKinleyville, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Corning wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Willows on the 23rd. As for McKinleyville, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Shasta on the 23rd.
