Basketball Recap: Hudson's Bay Takes a Loss

Hudson's Bay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 62-59 heartbreaker at the hands of the Woodland Beavers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 68-39 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Hudson's Bay lost, don't look at Jaxon Novotny. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 17 en route to 18 points in addition to six assists and six steals. Those six steals gave Novotny a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaxen Appelt, who posted nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Hudson's Bay's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Woodland, their win ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-14.

Hudson's Bay didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 82-36 defeat against Ridgefield on the 7th. As for Woodland, they have also already played their next matchup, an 81-52 loss against Columbia River on the 7th.
