Baseball Recap: Staunton Takes a Loss

Staunton lost against Riverheads back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Storm fell just short of the Gladiators by a score of 4-3.

Staunton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Neil, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Staunton has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Riverheads, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Staunton will challenge Charlottesville at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Storm's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Black Knights have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season. As for Riverheads, they will face off against Harrisonburg at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Gladiators are facing the Blue Streaks at the right time seeing as the Blue Streaks are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
