Flag Football Game Preview: Monterey Trail Mustangs vs. Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack

The Monterey Trail Mustangs will challenge the Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Monterey Trail 14.8, Cosumnes Oaks 14.5) so any points scored will be well earned.

Monterey Trail is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Sheldon just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 23-15 to the Huskies.

Although Monterey Trail took the loss, they still got scores from Mahallah Ali and Dalis Blackshire.

Meanwhile, Cosumnes Oaks suffered their biggest loss since October 1, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 33-7 to Pleasant Grove. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Wolfpack, who until this matchup were averaging 14.5 points allowed.

Monterey Trail will have to contain Avery Nogosek as she made an impact in Cosumnes Oaks' last game. She threw for 173 yards and five TDs.

Cosumnes Oaks' defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Monterey Trail, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.

Monterey Trail strolled past Cosumnes Oaks when the teams last played back in September by a score of 26-12. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Wolfpack's Abby Greene, who picked up 65 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 61 yards.
